Matias Soule was linked with a move to Fulham in the January transfer window.
It was reported several clubs had tried to sign the Argentine and that the west London side were one of them.
The player later revealed it was his decision to reject approaches from Fulham and other sides, as he wanted to prove himself at AS Roma.
Some more background has emerged about Soule’s situation today.
Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by PagineRomaniste, have reported the winger could have left Roma to join Fulham in the winter transfer window. There was also keen interest from Borussia Dortmund.
The outlet believe that it was not the player who rejected the move. Roma boss Claudio Ranieri ‘ruined everything’ for the Craven Cottage side, as he didn’t want to lose Soule.
The Giallorossi were missing attacking options and moving the Argentine on would have left them even lighter in the department.
This comes after the 21-year-old scored for the Roman side against Parma yesterday.
