Fulham star Andreas Pereira is not a priority for Flamengo at this moment in time, as they’re focused on finalising a deal to sign Arsenal’s Jorginho.
That’s according to Gazeta do Urubu, who say the Mengão board are fully focused on signing the Arsenal man despite the rumours around the Fulham midfielder.
They explain that despite reports Flamengo are interested in a deal for Pereira, who reportedly turned down a move to Palmeiras because of his association with Flamengo, who he played for on loan from 2021 to 2022, he is not ‘the most beloved’ in the club’s plans.
That’s because the board have made securing Jorginho on a free transfer in the summer, when he leaves Arsenal, a priority. They already have a verbal agreement with the midfielder.
That has seen them rule out active negotiations with Pereira, who is simply not seen as a priority at this moment in time.
That will come as good news to Fulham, who seem determined to keep hold of the Brazilian midfielder and weren’t interested in doing a deal with Palmeiras when they tried over the last few months.
