Fenerbahce have made a move to sign Issa Diop from Fulham, with his signing seen as important for the Turkish side.
That’s according to A Spor, who report that they have ‘pressed the button’ for next season and made a move for the Fulham defender.
They report that Jose Mourinho’s side are already planning for next season and another addition in defence despite signing Diego Carlos and Milan Skriniar in the January transfer window.
Mourinho wants to continue rebuilding his defence and has set his sights on the Fulham man. He and Fenerbahce plan to make a move for him in the summer.
They are attracted to Diop’s strong physique and a €20m move is now being eyed to tempt him away from Craven Cottage.
The defender’s current deal with Fulham expires in 2027 so they are in a relatively strong position, although this summer may be the ideal time to sell rather than leave it a year and him have one year remaining on his contract.
The 28-year-old has made 17 appearances in the Premier League for Fulham this season and has started 12 of those games so is still clearly a regular member of Marco Silva’s squad.
Fenerbahce are keen, though, and have already taken steps ahead of making a €20m move for him in the summer.
