Fulham are keen on signing AS Roma’s Matías Soulé before the winter market closes on Monday.
That’s according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, and he now brings the latest on Fulham’s plan to try and sign the 21-year-old.
The Argentine joined the Serie A side from Juventus last summer and signed a contract until 2029. He made 20 appearances in all competitions this season and it includes seven league starts.
Soulé’s game time has drastically reduced since Claudio Ranieri took charge at the club on November 14th. To put it in context, he played 28 minutes in Serie A from three games under the current Roma manager.
The winger’s situation at the Italian club has seen several clubs consider signing him late in this window.
Di Marzio claims that among these, Fulham are the one to have taken the ‘most concrete and convincing steps’ to sign the Roma player. He adds Marco Silva’s side are ready to bring the attacker to the Premier League on an ‘onerous loan’.
At this point in time, Roma haven’t made a decision and Di Marzio states their final verdict on Soulé is awaited.
