Earlier on Tuesday, Globo Esporte and ESPN in Brazil stated Fulham’s Andreas Pereira has rejected Palmeiras as he wants to continue in Europe.

ESPN reported the Premier League club were willing to sell the 29-year-old, while Globo said he turned down the Brazilian club’s offer.

Journalist Jorge Nicola also claims the Fulham player won’t be joining Palmeiras before the Brazilian window closes on February 28th.

He states the midfielder was open to making a switch to Brazil despite Globo and ESPN stating otherwise.

Palmeiras have been working on this operation since December and made three offers to Marco Silva’s side and counted on the former Manchester United man to help them with the negotiations.

The journalist reports the London club made it complicated for the Brazil international to leave.

“Fulham never showed any intention of trading him and when the last two offers were made, they didn’t even respond with a counteroffer or by saying they weren’t willing to do the deal,” he said.

The situation around Palmeiras started impacting his place at the English club. This year, he made six appearances for Fulham, including four league games and he started in one of them.

Pereira found out Fulham wouldn’t let him leave and therefore, decided to ‘put an end to it’.

Nicola reports they were ready to hand him the No.10 shirt, offer him wages higher than his current salary and an opportunity to play in the FIFA Club World Cup in the summer.

The midfielder eventually gave up after realising Fulham are reluctant to let him leave. His camp may have passed on this information to Nicola after earlier claims stated otherwise.

Andreas Pereira has always been very conscious of how he’s perceived in Brazil, which would be a reason to question the claims.
